Jokemaster

Jokemaster

The Jokemaster may seem like an unimportant role, but it is actually quite important for a few reasons. For one thing, it’s a great idea to warm up the audience (yes, even if it’s just the members) with a bit of levity. Secondly, telling a joke is an easy way for new members to get their feet wet speaking in front of the club.

Before the Meeting

  • Find a suitable joke that, if at all possible, ties in with the theme of the meeting
  • Try to memorize the joke before you arrive at the meeting

During the Meeting

  • At the request of the Toastmaster, present your joke to the audience, striving not to read it or use notes.
